West Exe School
The reroofing of the original part of this school building was a challenging project located on a main road completed for a main contractor and overseen by a managing agent, all whilst the building was still in use.
The Project
What we did
Project Overview: Reroofing of the original part of the school building, including the renewal of extensive lead work and renewal of flat roof coverings.
Materials Used: The pitched roof areas were recovered with Spanish Natural Slate, with Grey Concrete Angle Ridge and lead sheet installed to all valleys, gulley’s and coping stones. The flat roof areas were renewed using Garland bitumen felt.
Additional Details: The existing roof coverings contained asbestos and due to council policy had to be removed by a licenced asbestos contractor. The building was also in use by a variety of people, including children for the duration of the works. We co-ordinated all works with the client and building users to ensure all works were completed safely and with minimal disruption for all parties.
